Berber villages high in the hills , make this a picturesque journey . And when we get to Tizi’n Tichka Pass, we will be at the highest point in the Atlas Mountains . as you reach the other side of the mountain , the landscape changes dramatically, becoming semi- arid and desert . Here is the architecture Kasbah with towers on all buildings, adorned with window grills and soft peach-colored walls . These traditional houses are made of adobe , very suitable for the climatic conditions in the south. We will take our lunch at Ait Ben Haddou along the newly paved road . The afternoon is devoted to exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou , which has been used as a backdrop for many successful films in Hollywood. It ‘ was one of the most important strongholds of the fortress on the old caravan road salt , where merchants brought slaves , gold, ivory and salt from sub -Saharan Africa to Marrakech and beyond.
